New licensing for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
There will be Microsoft Dynamics 365 licensing changes effective October 1, 2019.
What is changing?
As announced by Microsoft in July 2019, Finance and Operations is now split into two individual applications: Supply Chain Management and Finance.
For who is it changing?
This will have an impact for all TravelOperations customers running Microsoft Dynamics D365 F&O at the time of contract renewal. From then on, they will need to license both applications separately in order to run TravelOperations Enterprise. For customers running Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 or AX 2012 there will be no change.
Why is Microsoft making this change?
As part of the evolution of their offering, Microsoft is building an à la carte selection of Business Applications. With this new offering, users are encouraged to evaluate their needs and select the applications that are the most suitable for them instead of purchasing a bundle of functionality that they may not require.
In order to reduce the cost for the users, Microsoft established a Base license/Attach license system. The Base license is licensed for the first Business Application that a full user purchases. Attach licenses are the additional licenses that a user may purchase at a discounted price.
What will happen for current Finance & Operations users?
TravelOperations Enterprise customers are therefore invited to license Finance as a Base license for each user, and will then only have to pay the flat price of 30$ to attach Supply Chain or 20$ to attach the Enterprise Sales App. Customers can purchase any additional Business Application as Attach licenses*.
All of our new customers from October 1, 2019 will be subscribing according to the new scheme. Existing customers will change their licensing at the time of contract renewal.
*The following Business Applications may not be purchased as attach license and require being purchased as second Base license: Project Service Automation, Marketing, Talent, Customers Insights, Microsoft Relationship Sales solution, Sales Insights, Marketing Additional Application, Customer Service Chat, Resource Scheduling Optimization, Comprehensive Hiring, Order Lines, Forms Pro and all capacity add-ons.
